Extreme cold warning issued for southern Ontario

Environment Canada has issued an extreme cold warning for southern Ontario as a cold front moves through the region overnight and into Saturday morning.

The weather office says wind chill values are expected to reach between -30C to -35C and will improve only “marginally” on Saturday afternoon.

The advisory covers areas as far west as Sarnia and Cornwall to the east, including the Greater Toronto Area.

The City of Toronto extended its extreme cold weather alert for Friday.
