RAJAMAHENDRAVARAM: The underlying message that BJP president Amit Shah wanted to send out at the huge public meeting organised here on Sunday was clear: “The BJP should grow into a formidable force by next elections by deriving benefit from the support that the Narendra Modi dispensation was extending to the state for its development.”
Though Amit Shah was very careful in not saying anything even remotely that might hurt the Telugu Desam Party, he, however, managed to make it clear that if development was taking place in AP it was because of the Centre and, therefore, the credit for it should go to the BJP. “You have to strengthen the party not only at village level but also at booth level. If Narendra Modi’s aim to free the country of Congress is to be fulfilled, the BJP should be strengthened. The party flag should fly high in North, South, East and West,” he said, indicating that his mission is to make fresh forays into the as yet uncharted waters of the country.
The public meeting was organised mainly to explain to the people what the Centre had done so far for the State in the face of criticism that it had left the State to fend for itself after bifurcation. The pubic meeting was named ‘AP Development – BJP Sankalp’, and making its objective clear Amit Shah repeatedly stressed the Centre’s commitment to Polavaram.
